Why I Can't Listen To Obama's Speeches

I have a hard time listening to Obama speak.  There is always a coded subtext that goes something like....'Now is not the time to talk about my real agenda, so here is some more doublespeak, the kind that got me elected President twice.  I started out talking about healing the planet, and slowing the rise of the oceans, and enough of you bought that, so that proves to me that you're all too stupid to see through any of it.  I can say just about anything and none of you will know the difference anyway.'

I saw an article the other day about the sound of crickets chirping.  Supposedly if you slow the sound down to the frequency of human speech, the crickets sound just like an angelic choir.  Maybe it's a hoax, who knows.  At least it's pleasant to listen to.  Take a listen here.

I can't help but wonder:  If you applied the same thing to the sound of fingernails on a blackboard, would it sound just like one of Obama's speeches?

Here's an example of fingernails on a blackboard played at normal speed:  "Scrrrreeeeeechh".  And here it is slowed way down:  "The immigration system is broken and everybody knows it…I have the legal authority to take action"…

Normal speed:  fingernails on blackboard
Slowed way down:  obama speech

Maybe I'm onto something, I don't know, you tell me...

  1. I can't stand his speaking style, it grates on my nerves. It's unpleasant & ponderous.
    You're on to something.
